Mason Jar Lanterns

Hi everyone!!  I recently bought a a couple of cases of mason jars when I decided to do my indoor herb garden.  (A post on that will be coming soon).  Anyhow…I now have an abundance of mason jars and I’ve been wracking my brain with other things to do with them.  As I started scouring Pinterest I came across this super cute idea to create rustic wall sconces/lanterns with a couple of the mason jars.  Below is a picture of the one I saw.  Isn’t this super cute or what?? I love it and something like this will look great on the wall in our dining area.

It seems simple enough to make something like this with my own spin on it.  Picked up my supplies and got to working today.

Supplies: wood boards, stain, mason jars, decorative hooks, decorative rocks and candles

Freshly stained wood board…now comes the most tedious aspect. Waiting for the stain to dry

I decided I wanted to go for a rustic/industrial look so I decided to spray paint the caps of the jars and these holders that I found that will turn the jars into lanterns. I sprayed them with an oil rubbed bronze  color which I loved.  I used the same spray paint for my industrial pipe shelves which I will also be posting about soon.

And now the waiting game starts.  All this stain and paint need to dry properly before I can proceed.  Can’t wait to share the finished product!!
